Walking away ~ December 31, 2013

Walking away now,
Leaving the drama behind
Embracing the light.

2 Women

Two women talking,
Complaining about boyfriends --
Reality bites!

Strictly speaking, it's not a haiku, but I'm sharing it anyway.

Red Umbrella
And when the rain came,
She opened her red umbrella
And thanked the bountiful Universe
For her many blessings.

Happy New Year to you! May you take some time to count your own bountiful blessings.

Deer tracks ~ February 15th

Deer tracks in the snow,
Right there outside my window.
A happy hello!

I spotted these tracks outside my kitchen window and took my camera with me when I went to investigate. I'm not positive that they are deer tracks although I have seen deer in my neighborhood. They're not coyote, not dog or cat. If you have an opinion, I'd love to hear it so please leave a comment. Thanks!

Coffee Shop Haiku

Recently I spent an hour and a half hanging out in a coffee shop, waiting for my car to be fixed. To amuse myself, I wrote a few haiku. Hopefully, they'll amuse you too.

I love coffee shops –
Overheard conversations,
Bad art on the walls.

Eggs Benedict sounds
Fancy, tastes great, impresses
Company at brunch.

Recently I've found
Twitter to be addictive.
I think I love it!

Coffee, chai, cocoa
Taste good on a winter's day,
Warm hands and tummy.

Cell phones bug me, yes
They do – every day, in
Public places – ugh!

Talking about spring
Plants makes me feel hopeful on
This January day.

What is better than
This quiet moment, watching
Coffee shop patrons?

How to be happy?
Relax and allow, breathe deep,
Count your blessings. Twice.

Here's a bevy of
Bridesmaids – all they need is a
Beautiful bride.

January 1

First day of the year --
Friend's tears, shared laughter, deep sighs;
And so it begins.
